Become a Friend of Shirley Singers
Shirley Singers, formally Spring Park Choral Society has been singing in Shirley for over 70 years. The Choir produces two main concerts each year and also plays a valued role in reaching out into the community by bringing mini concerts to local care homes and supporting other local groups and organisations by providing singers.
We love to keep in touch with our loyal and enthusiastic audience and also our past choir members who can no longer sing with us on a regular basis. Becoming a Friend of Shirley Singers enables us to maintain our contact with you in a special way.
Why become a Friend of Shirley Singers?
How can Friends help Shirley Singers?
Performances such as ours, which aim for sell out performances, need lots of work done behind the scenes so that everything goes smoothly on the night. We are grateful to our Friends of Shirley Singers for the practical help they give at our events by fulfilling back and front of house tasks which the performers cannot do, which could include helping with our refreshment service during performances, checking tickets on the door and helping our audience get safely to their seats and to the refreshments. We need to fundraise during the year to pay for the music required for concerts and some of our friends help us by assisting at these events or running small fundraising events on behalf of the choir such as coffee mornings.
Is there a cost to becoming a Friend?
We make a small charge of £10.00 per annum (January to December in any year) which includes one ticket free of charge to one of our two concerts.
